LOOK: Former International Journalist reacts to RT’s interview with Pres. Duterte: “A truly independent mind and leader”

“DUTERTE THE EMPIRE-PUNCHER”

This was the nickname gave to President Rodrigo Duterte by former international journalist Thoman Hon Wing Polin in reaction to Russian television network RT’s interview with the President.

The former international journalist said that the Philippines was the only nation under the influence of the american empire has dared call a spade a spade — especially a non-Western one. Until now.

He cited that since assuming the Presidency in 2016, Duterte has been chomping at the bit.

“Since being elected president of the Philippines in 2016, Rodrigo Duterte has been chomping at the bit. For 50 years a US colony and thereafter a neocolony, his strategic country long served as an anchor of the US presence in Southeast Asia.”

Polin explained that it was Washington’s predatory behavior prompted President Duterte to distance Manila from the United States, and move it closer to China and Russia.

“Washington’s predatory behavior prompted Duterte to distance Manila from the US and move it closer to China and Russia. Clearly the Exceptionalists found no reason to adjust their approach. Instead, they continued to pressure the Philippine leader, directly and through their entrenched proxies in his country.” he cited.

“That has sparked Duterte’s bluntest pushback yet — and in an exclusive interview with RT (video within the article below). A truly independent mind and leader.”

“All allies (translation: vassals) of Imperial America will envy him for having the courage to say what they can only think.” he continued.

DUTERTE THE EMPIRE-PUNCHER

No nation subsumed under the American Empire has dared call a spade a spade — especially a non-Western one. Until now.

Since being elected president of the Philippines in 2016, Rodrigo Duterte has been chomping at the bit. For 50 years a US colony and thereafter a neocolony, his strategic country long served as an anchor of the US presence in Southeast Asia.

Washington’s predatory behavior prompted Duterte to distance Manila from the US and move it closer to China and Russia. Clearly the Exceptionalists found no reason to adjust their approach. Instead, they continued to pressure the Philippine leader, directly and through their entrenched proxies in his country.

That has sparked Duterte’s bluntest pushback yet — and in an exclusive interview with RT (video within the article below). A truly independent mind and leader.

All allies (translation: vassals) of Imperial America will envy him for having the courage to say what they can only think.

Excerpts from the article below:

“ ‘America is not the Philippines and the Philippines is not America. It ain’t that way anymore, and I refuse to dovetail under American foreign policy,’ Duterte proclaimed in a candid interview with RT.

“Although Washington – which acquired the Philippines from Spain for just $20 million in the late 19th century – had ‘lived off the fat of the land,’ their attitudes haven’t seemed to change over time, he claimed. The US ‘looks at us as a vassal state because we were under Americans for 50 years.’

“Frustrated by US conduct, Manila has set its sights on Russia and China, which ‘respect the sovereignty of the Philippines [where] America is totally lacking’…

“Duterte was speaking just as the relationship between the Philippines and the US hit a new low. Recently, US senators adopted sanctions against Manila for the incarceration of former justice minister Leila de Lima – a known critic of Duterte’s crackdown on dr*gs…

“Regardless of any US pressure, there will be no U-turn in the wer on dr*g trafficking, Duterte insisted. ‘I’ve told everybody that if you d3stroy my country, the Philippines, with dr*gs, I will k1ll you. There’s no quarrel about that. I will k1ll you,’ he said.”
