One of the personalities who filed a case against President Rodrigo Duterte for ‘crim3s against humanity’ before the International Criminal Court (ICC) will withdraw his case.
Lawyer Jude Sabio, who made the filling before the court at the Hague, Netherlands, who was the lawyer of confessed [email protected] Edgar Matobato, said he has written a letter to ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda.
“I will send by e-mail later my letter-withdrawal that I executed today addressed to Prosecutor [Fatou] Bensouda regarding my intention to withdraw my earlier ICC communication,” Sabio said in a statement.
He added that he will submit it personally to Bensouda’s office in the Hague.
According to him, he withdraw his complaint against Duterte because it was being used by the opposition to d3stroy the President.
“Nakita ko na ginagamit lang nila ang kaso sa ICC para sa kanilang pulitika. Ayoko nang maging kasali sa ganyang katarantaduhan.” Sabio said.
Sabio was accompanied by Atty. Larry Gadon while signing the said affidavit.
It can be recalled that the Philippines already withdrew from ICC two years ago. However, Despite of this, ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said the ICC would still continue to look into the alleged ‘[email protected]@l k!llings’ in connection with President Duterte [email protected] on dr4ugs.
