The Olympic Council of Asia urged the Philippines to bid to host the 2030 ASIAN games as they expressed their amazement over the opening ceremony of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) games.
According to Ramon Suzara, chief operating officer of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC), council vice president Wei Jizhong praised the New Clark City athletics and aquatis facilities in Tarlac.
“Noong nakita niya ’yung Clark, sabi niya ang ibang bansa walang ganu’n. Sinabihan kami na, ‘Why not bid for 2030 for that kind of facility?” he said.
“Walang masama sumubok 10 years from now.” he added.
Olympic Council of Asia Vice President Jizhong also said that after the successful opening ceremony of the 30th SEA Games, the philippines proves that they’re ‘credible’ in bigger sports events.
“The Philippine Arena is perhaps a unique arena in the world. We witnessed the enthusiasm of all athletes, and showed the excellent tradition of the SEA Games so far” he said.
“This means that the Philippines is capable to organize bigger-scale Games,” he added.
