Sen. Go says Pres. Duterte to personally investigate GCTA mess

Long time personal-aide and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said that President Rodrigo Duterte would conduct his own investigation on the release of more than 1,914 convicts of heinous crïmes over the implementation of the GCTA or Good Conduct Time Allowance.

“Sabi ni Pangulong Duterte, paiimbestigahan niya ito. Definitely heads will roll. Ang Pangulo ay mag-iimbestiga ng kanyang sarili kung meron ba talagang korapsyon,” Senator Bong Go told reporters after the Senate committee hearing on GCTA law.

He also said that the Bureau of Corrections Chief Nicanor Faeldon should face the responsibilities for supposedly allowing the release of some notorious convicts. However, Go said that not only Faeldon but also the other officials of the BuCor who processed the documents should be held responsible.

“May pananagutan po, not only Faeldon but kung sino ang dinaanan ng papel…Lahat ng pumirma ay dapat managot. Bakit nila pinayagang i-release ang mga convicted?” he said.

When he was asked if the President still trusts the BuCor chief Faeldon, Go said “Si Presidente lang makakasagot pero sa takbo ngayon papanagutin ng Pangulo.”
